The brake pads wear out over time and need to be replaced regularly. How do you know when the pads have worn out? You will know that your brake pads need replacing because as they wear down, they will start squeaking when you go to brake. At that point, you will need to go to an auto repair shop and get your brakes checked. Do not put off getting those brakes checked! The brake shoes will start scratching the rotors if the pads are too worn down. Now that pad replacement, which would not have cost much, has become a pad and rotors replacement.
