Some will automatically feed the sheets or documents through the scanner for you, while others will require that you hand feed the documents. The ones that do it automatically for you are called sheet feeder portable scanners. They also have some that have a feature that will allow you to have your scanned documents immediately sent to a folder on your laptop or to Outlook express for easy emailing.
