Join my world of log cabin kit
Log home kits are likely to settle with time; settling refers to shrinking and compression of the logs. There will be less likelihood of shrinking if good seasoned logs are used. Seasoning removes the moisture from the logs and chances of shrinking are reduced. You can't avoid settling due to compression because logs are stacked on top of each other and they have tendency to press down the logs that are positioned underneath. Settling due to compression is very common in tall structures.
